Message from the CEWIL Board - April 2021

Congrats to our membership for making March’s WIL month a resounding success, including celebrating our first ever National Day of WIL. Our social media engagement from across the country was inspiring! A highlight for us was the “Day of WIL” video, sharing what WIL means to you - our members, while  highlighting our 2020 CEWIL Canada’s Student of the Year Award recipients.

The association’s largest undertaking to support WIL, the iHub funding - supported by ESDC, is fully up and running with round 1 complete. We are happy to report that we have seen a pan-Canadian uptake from institutions with respect to funding and experiences.  Round 2 closed on March 31, and the adjudication team is currently reviewing the submissions. The team looks forward to getting back to successful applicants the first week of May.

The iHub team is growing to support members and institutions to capitalize on this funding. As Round 3 opens soon, you can look forward to communicating directly with your Regional Associate Directors to answer your questions, provide presentations for academic departments, validate funding eligibility or to brainstorm your IWIL ideas.

Wishing you a safe, productive and happy spring.
